Watch The Chi Season 6 Episode 6 “Boyz II Men”
Previously on The Chi Season 6 Episode 5, Kevin, Jake, Papa, and the crew celebrate a major milestone. Emmett questions Douda. Kiesha asks for help. Jamal issues a warning to Bakari. Shaad makes a potentially life-altering decision.
Warning… Spoilers below!
On The Chi Season 6 Episode 6, after finding the hidden cash Emmett was holding for Douda, Keisha threatened to leave Emmett for putting their family in danger. Emmett vowed to fix things, stopping her from leaving…
The Consequences of the Truth
At Victor’s office the next day, he stonewalled an FBI agent questioning him with a photo taken of him and Douda in the vicinity of where the informant Q’s body was found. Quincy reminded the agent of Victor’s right to remain silent and shoed him out since there weren’t any charges.
Victor discussed his predicament with Quincy and Fatima, who was shocked to hear Victor was an accomplice. Fatima urged Victor to tell the truth but he could possibly face prison time for his involuntary involvement. Victor preferred to keep quiet but knew the situation wouldn’t go away…
Victor visited Pastor Jackson for guidance. The preacher redirected to let God guide him and prayed for the politician. The pastor also shared that the city would be in turmoil as long as Douda ran the criminal underworld.
So, Victor called Rob to his office to tell him that he was present when Douda killed his uncle Q. (I think it was a means to have Douda eliminated in the streets since Rob had asked Victor if he knew anything about his uncle’s murder.)
Rob took the intel to his mother, Alicia, who advised him to eliminate Douda. Rob didn’t have trustworthy help.
Cutting Ties
Emmett went to his father, Darnell, to retrieve his gun. Reluctantly, Darnell gave it to him. Emmett prepped himself to confront Douda, brandishing the gun in his face and demanding they cut ties. Douda disarmed and attacked him, heeding a threat. Emmett negotiated to buy Douda out of his investments, and Douda agreed to “hear him out” once his money was paid back.
Estranged
Douda beat Bakari up for getting the stolen vehicle confiscated. Bakari was full of guilt after being responsible for getting Lynae and himself arrested, so he tried to visit her. She was on punishment and was denied visitation. However, Jamal pulled up, noticed Bakari’s bruised face, and offered him a ride home. They chatted about responsibilities and life.
However, when Bakari arrived home, his estranged younger sister, G (or Gianna, portrayed by Amari Noelle Ferguson), awaited him. G claimed she came into some cash and was funding her rap career. Bakari was staying with Papa and Pastor Stanley, so he could offer a place to stay but planned to meet with her the next day and catch up.
Boyz II Men
Papa visited Kenya and her son. Although it was a new experience for him, he was willing to continue dating her. When Papa got home, he admitted to his preacher father that he was dating a woman with a child. And she was an opposing preacher’s kid. Pastor Jackson forbade him from dating Kenya. Ultimately, Papa decided to buck and was not allowed to return to his father’s home…
The youth… Kevin, Jake, Papa, and Bakari joined the men’s group for talking and therapy. Bakari opened up about reuniting with his younger sister. Emmett asked the group to have his back (unbeknownst to them if he faces off against Douda again.) Victor asked the group to pray for him and trust him.
Leaving The CHI
Dre asked Jada and Tracy’s opinions about communicating with her ex, Monica. They saw through her and warned her about it and the strife it would cause in her marriage.
Dre discussed with Nina that she wanted to have a lesbian friend. Nina was livid that she wanted to hang with her ex-fiance. The spat was cut short when Kevin arrived to tell his parents that he was moving to Los Angeles. Dre was supportive, but Nina was not excited about it. Nina was distraught and needed time to process it…
Kevin gave a powerful speech, revealing he was following his dream of moving to Los Angeles. He encouraged them to follow their own path…
Bakari’s sister attended the graduation party and dropped some bars, impressing Jemma, who discussed being her manager. Maisha felt some kind of way about it.
Meanwhile, Pastor Jackson prayed for Papa’s protection, then a masked goon kept into his house and strangled him from behind… killing him!
We know Douda was behind Pastor Jackson’s murder. Think he sent Nuck to do the hit? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
