Warning… Spoilers below!
On The Chi Season 6 Episode 8, we transition through all seasons of young Kevin growing up to be a man.
Moving On
Kevin packed up, getting ready for LA. Masiha was weary of their young love surviving a long-distance relationship. Kevin felt confident they would last and confessed his love for her.
Emmett and Keisha’s frustration hit a tipping point but swayed in the proper direction when he sacrificed a week off work so she could look for another job. She thanked him with makeup sex, but it turned into another spat before Emmett didn’t understand why his actions put their family in danger by dealing with Douda. Then, Nuck requested to meet Keisha privately…
Emmett visited his parents to borrow money to buy Douda out. His father, Darnell, shared his disappointment in his decision-making, seeking to better his life while putting his family in danger. Emmett became upset, refusing the financial help. Yet, Darnell told him that he would rid Emmett’s problem for him!
Papa apologized to Kenya for snapping at her after his father’s death. He also broke up with her, and she told him it broke her heart after she finally opened it up.
Papa shared with Kevin and Jake that he was entering seminary school to follow in his father’s footsteps. Before Kevin left, he sublet his place to Jake, vowing to help if he got into a financial bind.
Speak Highly Of Me
Darnell took a bag of cash to Douda to settle Emmett’s debt. Douda redirected that the payment would only cover half of Emmett’s debt. Then, Douda changed the deal. He ordered Darnell to speak highly of Douda in the streets in exchange for his son’s safety!
Rob confessed to Tiff that the loan from his mother came with attachments, which meant killing Douda! Tiff spoke with Emmett about it because it concerned their son’s safety. She urged him to talk to Rob. That led Rob and Emmett to speak with Victor, who knew they weren’t capable of murdering Douda. They asked for his help, yet he refused them as he had too much to lose. Rob vowed to execute Douda without their help, so Emmett called Douda for a private meeting…
Moving Out
Nuck met with Keisha to ask to hang out and talk like old times. It wasn’t a good idea since she and Emmett were on thin ice.
Jake told Jemma that he was taking over Kevin’s lease. Jemma was excited, wanting to move in and leave her father’s home, but Jake wanted his own place. Jemma decided to withhold sex.
Jemma met Gianna at the studio to listen to her new music. Things got steamy when Brittany kissed Jemma, though she stopped her—seeking a professional relationship with her. Jemma confessed she wanted her own place, so Brittany sent her $10K. Gianna claimed it was an advance on her payment to her manager.
(Just a bit of continuity issues happened in this episode. Amari Noelle Ferguson, the actress who portrays Brittany, was initially introduced as “G” in the 6th episode and later called “Gianna.” Now she goes by Brittany?)
Jemma told her father and Tierra she was moving into her own place. Marcus was initially upset and dubious of her decision and where her move-out funds came from. Ultimately, he gave his blessings.
Wrong Person
Shaad noticed Tierra was happy with Marcus and texted her to dissolve his passion for her. Yet, he realized he accidentally sent the message to his girlfriend, Deja. Tierra has been a thorn in the couple’s side since Shaad flirted with her in the past. When Shaad got to Deja’s home, she packed his things to move out!
The family threw a big party for Kevin before he left. He gave a tearfully heartfelt speech to make his family proud.
Don’t Miss!
Meanwhile, Alicia met with Douda’s third in command, enticing him with an offer to work for her…
While Douda and Nuck waited to meet with Emmett, a black sedan with masked gunmen raced towards them. Rob shot at them while they took cover! Just before Rob could fire upon Douda, the gun jammed, so Nuck shot him, and they bailed!
Alicia and Tiff visited Rob in the hospital and fought over who was responsible for him getting shot. Alicia demanded Tiff leave, upset that he spoke with non-family about crime hits. Suspecting Tiff would turn on him if the Feds investigated.
Live Your Life
Bakari was distraught after Pastor Jackson’s murder and woke to a vision of his childhood friend, Coogie. They discussed Bakari killing Ronnie as a result of it. His vision of Coogie urged him to live the life he couldn’t…
Victor visited the hospital to witness Rob and Emmett’s blunder. He decided to finish what they started, but Fatima talked him down. However, it wasn’t even to change Victor’s mind from killing douda…
Things are getting heated and complicated. Douda has been an obvious threat to everyone. Think Victor will resort to his old criminal ways and eliminate Douda? Tell us your thoughts on this episode in the comments!
