Previously on The Chi Season 6 Episode 3, Emmett contends with an unexpected gift. Victor surprises Fatima. Lynae starts to doubt Bakari’s intentions. Papa defends Kenya. Darnell issues a warning, while Rob looks for clues.
Warning… Spoilers below!
On The Chi Season 6 Episode 4, it’s 420, and Douda is having a steam sex session with Bianca, and Roselyn, his ex-wife, interrupts to talk.
There’s a Rat
Shaad and Victor pulled up on Emmett for guy talk. Emmett’s life looked great from the outside looking in, but he felt overwhelmed while juggling. Victor suggested more male bonding therapy.
Roselyn told Douda that Q was working as an informant for the FBI. If the Feds learned that Douda killed Q, he would be imprisoned for life and warned to cool his hot-head killings.
The next day, Douda showed up at Shaad’s garage, tossing him a stack of cash. Shaad hadn’t held that much money since he robbed a bank a decade ago. He told Douda this freaking was a one-time thing…
Nuck informed Douda of a stockpile of guns, and Douda didn’t want them in good presence with the new federal heat. Nuck asked Bakari if he could stash them. (Something Jamal warned Lynae would happen in criminal organizations.)
That Old Thang
Dre’s ex-fiancé Monica showed up at the ROCK center to work a few days a week. They both agreed it wouldn’t be awkward…
Marcus gave Jemma an ultimatum to meet her goal or attend college. She felt college was a scam.
Meanwhile, Fatima met with friends to discuss the relationship with Victor.
Later on, Monica asked Dre for coffee to catch up. Dre declined her to keep peace at home. Dre noticed Monica had a wedding ring and questioned her nuptials weren’t meant to be with her. Monica asked about coffee again, but Dre wisely bailed.
Be Mindful of the Company You Keep
When Emmett got home, Kiesha left him with the kids and a mess, telling him they needed a nanny to help. He warned her about the stress (and trouble) all the extra expenses were causing.
Maisha went over on studio time, so Jemma had to cut it for the budget. They got into a spat as Jemma needed another hit from Maisha.
Papa and Kenya went on a bowling date. When he helped her get a strike, he had her favorite Anita Baker song, “Sweet Love,” play then they danced.
Roselyn visited Victor to inform him that Q was an FBI informant. She told him he could be named an accomplice in Q’s murder. She advised him to keep quiet if questioned.
Cairo gave Rob and Tiff a tour of the natural marijuana growing process. They learned that they needed more money for their business.
While playing board games, Kevin gives a hint slip about Maisha. Papa brought Kenya, and the vibe was off since she didn’t smoke weed. Jemma threw low-key shots at Maisha about her work ethic.
Nuck brought a stack of cash to Pastor Johnson, and he declined it…
Emmett took the kids to the ROCK center for the male therapy meeting and ran into his father. Darnell confronted him about hiding a gun in his nightstand. He warned him about Douda. Emmett had been searching for it and demanded the weapon back, but Darnell declined him. Telling Emmett he would hold it until he really needs it.
Real Talk Among Black Men
Victor opened up about his thankless job as Alderman.
Marcus opened up about his new relationship and his daughter’s envy. Yet he didn’t reveal who he was dating.
Emmett confessed the hardships of his new responsibilities and shared with his father that he didn’t see that example with his upbringing.
Shaad confessed how difficult it is to live with a woman without a job. She took a chance on him, and he owed her righteousness.
Jamal didn’t want to disappoint his sister, explaining the temptations of the streets.
Lions at the Gates
Darnell invited Shaad and Deja for dinner as well as Marcus and his lady. There was shade thrown by Deja when she found out it was Tierra.
Later, Shaad met with Douda, and they tried to offload the guns on him, but he declined.
Tiff and Rob met with Victor to fast-track a permit to grow weed. His hands were tied for at least six months. That was too long for them. Tiff would rather grow illegally than by supplied by Douda.
While in private, Rob asked Victor if he knew his uncle’s killer. Victor claimed not to know.
Douda attended Pastor Jackson’s church, where Tracy was. The sermon was directed at him… being the lion at the gate ready to attack…
