The Wheel of Time Season 2 Plot

Though Rand believed he had destroyed the Dark One, evil remains in the world. New and ancient threats target the young friends from the Two Rivers, now spread out across the world. The woman who discovered and guided them can no longer help, so they must find other sources of strength, either in each other, in themselves, in the Light or the Dark.

“The Wheel of Time,” based on the best-selling fantasy series by Robert Jordan, follows a humble farm boy, Rand al’Thor, portrayed by Josha Stradowski (“Gran Turismo”), who discovers he is the Dragon Reborn, a pivotal figure from history set to either save or destroy the world. To protect him from the Dark One, a group of powerful sorceresses grapple with his growing power and looming madness. As the Wheel of Time turns, the Last Battle draws near. In Season Two, even though Rand believed he had defeated the Dark One, evil persists. New and ancient threats emerge, targeting the young friends from the Two Rivers, who are now scattered globally. The woman who discovered and guided them can’t assist anymore, pushing them to seek other sources of strength, whether in each other, within themselves, in the Light or the Dark.

“The Wheel of Time” cast also includes Rosamund Pike (“Gone Girl,” “I Care a Lot”) as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney (“Criminal Minds”) as Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins (“Power Rangers Ninja Steel”) as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden (“Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford (“Obey”) as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn (“Rogue Heroes”) as Mat Cauthon, and Ceara Coveney (“Young Wallander”) as Elayne Trakand.

We were granted access to exclusive bonus footage for season two ahead of the release date. It confirms Moiraine was right in the season finale. Their last battle with The Dark One was only the beginning. An invasion by sea is the precursor of the carnage to come…

The Dark One has an army of monsters called “Trollocs” who do his bidding, and they are programmed killing machines. Eons ago, they were human. However, they have been genetically engineered. Part man, other parts are animals to create the ultimate soldiers. Some look like boars, bears, hawks, and other aggressive creatures.

In a sneak peek, we see The Dark One’s view of them differs from humanity’s perspective.

The Wheel Of Time Season 2 Speculations

We should expect more on Rand al’Thor’s journey as the Dragon Reborn and how those he confides in react. We also hope to see Nynaeve and Egwene delve deeper into their experiences with the One Power and begin their training.

On the romantic front, the budding relationship between Nynaeve and Lan showed promise in the last episodes; we’re eager to see where that leads. And for those familiar with the books, Egwene and Rand’s relationship is far from its conclusion.

The main cast will return, including Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, and Daniel Henney.

Thomas Chaanhing, who played Lord Agelmar, Guy Roberts, who took on the role of Uno Nomesta, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver, who portrayed Lady Amalisa, Lord Agelmar’s sister, are all set to return.

Looking forward, Ingtar Shinowa, Elayne Trakand, and Masema Dagar have been cast (portrayed by Gregg Chillingirian, Ceara Coveney, and Arnas Fedaravicius). The role of Mat Cauthon has been recast with Dónal Finn stepping in for the show’s second season.

Given that the first season premiered in the fall, we anticipate that “The Wheel of Time” will return in fall 2022. We’ll continue to provide updates, so check back here for a release date, cast confirmations and any other news related to “The Wheel of Time.”
