Previously on Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 3, after facing off with a dangerous man, Chee strikes out on his own. Leaphorn and Manuelito partner with the sheriff’s department, leading Leaphorn to identify a vital clue.

On Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 4, we pick up where the premiere episode left off… when Leaphorn and Manuelito were fired upon while inside the trailer.
By Any Means Necessary
Colton heard them coming. He crept out of the side trap door, grabbed a hidden machine gun, and opened fire on them!
They weren’t hit and fired upon the maniac as he fled in their vehicle. Colton crashed but escaped before smashing their radio and stealing their rifle. Backup was a few hours away, so they decided to hunt the man who may be responsible for Leaphorn Jr’s death by any means necessary in the dark of the night.
After a shootout, Colton jumped Leaphorn in a horse staple. They cornered Colton atop a ridge, but he jumped over the canyon to escape before they could arrest him. Leaphorn couldn’t lose the man who murdered his son, so he jumped!
Captured & Hired
Emma took Sally’s son to the doctor while Sally waited outside and met a woman named Mary Landon.
In the morning, Leaphorn woke battered and bruised from hopping off a ledge. Colton wasn’t to be found. Manuelito awaited backup, which arrived in daylight. She negotiated to lead the team as she was familiar with the harsh land.
Leaphorn wrapped his broken hand and loaded his last bullet in hunting Colton. He found the maniac, knocked him out, and tied him up! Leaphorn noosed Colton and made him walk ahead of him at a distance. When the criminal tried to run, he yanked him back to reality.
Meanwhile, Rosemary Vines visited Chee, ironically flaming up a cigarette and offering the rest of his payment for searching for the stolen lockbox. She was regretful his life was risked twice and offered money to the families of other Navajos that died. Chee stunned her when he brought up Thomas. She went to her car and wept.
However, Chee received a knock on the door, and B.J. Vines held him at gunpoint, accusing him of screwing his wife. Chee disarmed the man and confessed that his wife hired him to find the lockbox. B.J. redirected to hire Chee to find evidence that his wife was having an affair…
The Voice Inside Your Head
Manuelito and Sena searched for Leaphorn by horseback. She grew tired of his cautiousness and parted ways to find Leaphorn, who was like a father figure to her.
Colton taunted Leaphorn of the risks his injuries would cause, trying to reason with him to set him free, even revealing that there was $25K inside the bag he confiscated. Colton figured out quickly Leaphorn’s hunt was personal as he drew his gun on him.
Leaphorn attempted to shut the loquacious man up by gagging him, but Colton kicked him, taunting that he was the voice in his head. Leaphorn, in anger, choked him out but stopped.
The March
Later on, Sally confessed her regrets about how she got pregnant and felt her son would share them as he grew older- hating her.
Meanwhile, Leaphorn gagged Colton as they traversed snowy terrain. Colton took an opportunity to run and got away from Leaphorn. He dislocated his shoulder to untie and un-noose himself.
Colton ambushed Leaphorn, attacking his broken arm, but Leaphorn bested him, drawing his gun and firing a warning shot. Then, Manuelito found them.
As B.J. and Rosemary dined, they discussed her interference in his business affairs. Then, he gifted her an engraved necklace saying “Fidelis,” which meant “faithful.”
Manuelito and Leaphorn marched Colton into a jail cell, where the injured nemesis peered into each other’s souls…
