American Horror Story Season 12 Episode 1 Premiere Recap “Multiply Thy Pain”
In “American Horror Story: Delicate,” actress Anna Victoria Alcott grapples with the challenges of IVF and a burgeoning fear that an unknown entity targets her amidst her pursuit of motherhood. As anticipation for her latest film swells, so do her concerns.

On the American Horror Story Season 12 Episode 1 Premiere, Anna was awakened by a dark hooded intruder in bed with her. She called the police and noticed her embryo photo ripped in half and covered in blood. Then she gripped her stomach, hands covered in blood, and screamed…
Inseminated
One week earlier, Anna’s hubby, Dexter (portrayed by Matt Czuchry), urged her to meet him at the fertility clinic. Before entering, she spotted a creepy woman gazing at an eery bird’s nest with an open egg that appeared to be filled with human insides. This was Anna’s third time taking the procedure.
Since hiring a new publicist, Siobhan Corbyn (portrayed by Kim Kardashian), Anna is now an A-list celebrity. Siobhan, too, tried fertility procedures, but they didn’t take. Siobhan championed Anna’s journey while booking her for late-night television.
That evening, Anna found a gray hair and pulled it, yet it strung along for a few feet (similar to pulling a spider’s web.) Anna also wrestled with the fact that her husband was a widower; his former wife, Adeline, died, and she would be brought up in conversations among friends. Anna was worried Dexter was still in love with his former wife.
Anna’s doctor called with an embryo transfer date but pushed it to the next day since her Andy Cohen interview conflicted. That evening, while researching Adeline, she noticed her fertility appointment was moved. Chalking it to a hack attempt, she changed her password and rescheduled with the doctor.
While at her interview, she noticed an old woman in black with a purse labeled “Preech.” Anna continued to have visions of the older woman, but she wasn’t there…
She joined her hubby’s art showcase and gazed into a mesmerizing piece of art. Meeting the artist, Sonia Shawcross (portrayed by Annabelle Dexter-Jones), revealed to be the creepy woman staring at the bird’s nest in front of her building.
The next morning, she was given a picture of her embryos and then inseminated. We flash forward to Anna chasing the hooded intruder from her home. Her hands were covered in red lipstick rather than blood (a shade Sonia commented on.) Then she revealed a calendar notification that said, “Look in the mirror.”
When Anna looked in the mirror, the phrase, “Don’t Do It Anna!” was written in lipstick…
